Rusty the Mechanical Dragon

On the dusty shelves of an old alchemist's den you see an odd assortment of jars, books, and assorted ingredients. A small squeak grasps your attention from behind the dusty old pages of a weathered journal. You pull it from the shelf and peer through the dim lighting at the tiny thing in front of you. It resembles a toy, rocking back on a shell attached to its back, unable to get to its feet. You gingerly pick it up, much to the surprise of this creature. It squeals as you place it upright in your hand. You cringe at the metallic sound and it stops. With a squeak and a creak it peers at you with fiery gemstone eyes, then sits back comfortably in its newly claimed nest... your hand.
Overcome with pity for the tiny being in your hand, you decide to bring it home with you. Mom and dad won't let you have a dog, but how can they say no to a pocket-sized dragon?
As you make your way home you stare at the little dragon in your hand. A snail-like shell protrudes from his back and seems to encumber him. It's hard to tell if he's looking at you or not as his eyes glisten in the sunlight. He's very dirty and covered in some mixture of oil, dust, and grime.
As soon as you reach home you set about to clean him. A number of supplies crowd your kitchen table as you get to work. It coos happily at being restored to it's former glory. Two golden horns appear, other accents on it's body appear to be bronze and copper. Finally, you uncover on its chest a little heart of gold, much to the joy of the dragon. It wobbles around the tabletop in newfound happiness, and you decide it needs a name.
Rusty?
Sounds about right.

I thought it would be fun to have a "discovering a dragon" story, and this little guy popped into my head. So, here he is
He's made of metallic polymer clay, a real snail shell, some metal bits and high gloss varnish for shine and protection.
His eyes are gorgeous vintage fire opals that I got from MyAtlantis on etsy [link]
He's guarenteed never to rust again!
