Dragon Snail by MaryBunnie Dragon Snail by MaryBunnie
A little dragon snail made of translucent polymer clay.

The eyes are embedded under the translucent clay to make them seem more snail like :)
detailed with pink and gold paint, although it is hard to see in the pictures.. About 3 1/2 inches in length and 1 1/2 in height :)
Made with a real shell ;)

Awww thank you so much! Translucent sculpey is such a wonder to work with, it seemed perfect for snails to me! I was afraid that I didn't pick up the details that well in the photos, but you've made me feel much better about that! :D

I would have picked a different shell if I way you, but nevertheless, the snail looks adorable! I love the way he's a bit transparent, great choice of clay :) The little... things... like dots... can't find the English word, or dear xD Anyway, the thingies all around him that stand out really look nice. If he was smooth he wouldn't look so realistic :D

I still have to search my computer for more pictures of the chubby dragon too.. I put things in folders and then totally forget where they are haha. ooooh you mean his hmmm i cant think of the word either, his dimpley things maybe? haha I was hoping theyd look nice ^-^ yay :w00t:

thank you! I go to a craftstore called Michaels, they sell translucent polymer clay in the sculpey brand, the premo sculpey brand, and the fimo brand! I used the premo sculpey brand, you can probably easily get it off of amazon.com or ebay if you cannot find it at a craftstore near you! I hope this helps :)

Hobby Lobby is great. It has fabric AND art supplies. Best place to go for puppet supplies. If you ever plan to make a puppet, plan a trip to Hobby Lobby. then anything Hobby Lobby does not have, try Michaels. :)

XD I got the Idea from another persons art, so it's a fair trade :) as long as we all have our own design and don't use any copyrighted names. I still want to look in on a copyright for my "secret" art piece. Though, if you look here on Deviant, there are others that have made things like it. So I probably have to think of a new name.

well "Snail Dragon" is copyrighted, so I came up with Mullusk Dragon. Mollusk is another name for a snail :) As for the other beast >.< Yeah, I may need help.

Wow that little guy looks very fragile and precious at the same time. The clay which you used for the skin makes some kind of a "transparent" look. That makes him much more fragile looking. And I love how you painted the shell ^^
