Commission- Mother and Child 2 by MaryBunnie Commission- Mother and Child 2 by MaryBunnie
She is SOLD along with the first one I made!!!
This is a custom order for a mother dragon sculpture based off of another I made: [link]

The commissioner wanted wings that were a bit larger on this sculpture. This one features larger wings and darker color. The amethyst is one big crystal instead of a cluster because I could not find another amethyst cluster that small. But it still looks very nice and catches the light in a unique way :) Even when making the same sculpture I really want everyone to have one that is just their own :)

Mother and baby dragon are made from hand mixed polymer clay. Mother has hematite colored glass eyes, and holds a chunk of amethyst crystals in her paws as her baby climbs it. Mother has swarovski crystal details on her head and tail, baby is detailed with acrylic paint. Whole sculpture has been glazed with a pearlizing wash, then a few coats of high gloss varnish.

I am so happy to have two of these sculptures going to good homes! If you would like a commission of your own, check out my gallery and my shop! [link] And of course, message me =P

That is amazing you don't need wires and it is all clay! Really amazing work on this one! Love the big detailed wings!

Thank you! I guess I feel more accomplished afterwards when I know that somehow I didn't use wire :XD: Thank you for being my moral support!  I baked the wings before I stuck them on so that they wouldnt flop :)

I do that sometimes, but I need to create a holder for the wings as they bake, something that will hold them up. What do you for that? I am always here for your moral support Mary :)

I always use foil for that! Sometimes if I need to weigh down the foil I wrap a rock into it too if the clay will be heavier than the foil :) I did that for my posable sea serpant horns too because they were bigger than normal dragon horns =D
 I am happy that I can always talk to you ;)

It's good that you made a photo where she sits on your hand, so it is easy to realize the size of the sculpture.

By the way: Very neat work Mary and they are looking just cute ^^ Say: How can you make the horns so well formed?
