Amethyst Serpant Dragon by MaryBunnie Amethyst Serpant Dragon by MaryBunnie
She has been adopted! But if you would like something similiar just let me know!

This serpentine dragon is lovingly handmade with high quality polymer clay. Its body is detailed with countless individual scales, crystals accent choice scales to more effectively catch the light. Eyes are hematite colored extremely shiny czech glass. A chunk of Amethyst is held close to it's heart, and many more pieces of amethyst created a spine that flows from the base of its neck to its tail. Glass stones travel down the back of its neck and continue where the amethyst leaves off along the tail :) Finally a few swarovski crystals grace its forehead.

~She is actually more aqua green than she appears, it was hard to photograph this!
~about 4 1/2 inches long

I really spent a long time on this one, all those scales- phew!

I use sculpey and fimo brands, sculpey has some colors that have the word "pearl" in them, such as pearl blue :) I always mix those colors in to get the nice shiny effect! :D And then glazing the sculpture makes it even shinier :meow: ^-^

When I look to this dragon I have more a feeling of "water" then "fire" because of the wonderful effect which comes from the glass stones and the crystals. It made me think to something like this: [link]

I did have water droplets in mind! Yay! That is a beautiful picture also I must say  I found the glass stones while shopping, they are for flower arrangements and fish tanks but I wanted to use them in a sculpture way :) I love water and I love the color blue, so many times a dragon either comes out blue or a water elemental XD
My friend what kind of dragon do you think I should make next? :O

Hmmm :-? ... well... maybe... Ah I got it  You could create a dragon who represents the power of the :sun: sun. What do you think about that?

Also, i found a great websight with stoned that are under 5 dollars. Still kinda pricey, but there are several to choose from. I really like this green one i looked at.

I think the scales were worth the time and effort - they look marvellous! I also love how her snout is so smooth and slender, very feminine  I would make her paws a lil' bit smaller; it might be the perspective of the photograph, but they seem blocky for such a serpentine lady.

thank you so much! You always leave me such thoughtful comments and they help when I work on my next sculpture :D I'm glad she looks feminine I was really going for that! The paws look better in person I thin I went a little overboard with the angles I took pictures at :XD: in your opinion do you like weird angles or straight on shots of a picture? :O i can never decide.

If you want to make it more artistic, angles are good. But if you want to show a sculpture, without misconceptions like the thickness of the paws, straight shots would be better IMHO. One from the frons, one from the side, back or above is all a potential customer should see :D
